Welcome
Welcome to Letters from the Promised Land!
Hi Friend,
You may be wondering what Letters from the Promised Land is all about.
Not that long ago, my life fell apart in unimaginable ways and I no place to call home.
It was a strange mixture of uncertainty, humiliation, and, oddly enough, relief. I’d been praying for God’s help and was intentionally building a relationship with Jesus. Little by little, the life I’d been clinging to began to close in around me until one day, everything changed.
Suddenly, the things I’d been praying for no longer mattered. There was only one path in front of me.
So, I started walking it. Although “walking” isn’t quite the right word. It felt more like blazing a trail through unfamiliar territory. I couldn’t see where it was leading, but somehow, I knew God had gone before me. My job was to simply keep going.
I didn’t know it then, but Jesus was already leading me toward a place that would rebuild my life—not simply because of where I’d live, but because of what He would teach me there.
Looking back, I can see His fingerprints everywhere.
It started with a question I never imagined I’d ask:
“God… is it possible? Could I still build a home?”
Everything around me suggested otherwise. But I never sensed God saying no, so I went with yes.
Then I asked the obvious question.
“But how? I don’t have a good-paying job and very little means.”
What followed wasn’t a straight path or an easy one. Sometimes God opened doors so effortlessly it left me speechless. Other times, He simply gave me enough strength to take the next step, face the next challenge, or overcome the next fear.
I prayed my way through the biggest challenge of my life.
And every step of the way, Jesus met me there.
As I walked through that season with Him, something unexpected happened.
I began to recognize that He hadn’t just shown up during my greatest need.
He’d been faithfully walking beside me all along.
Before I knew it, the foundation was in, the walls went up and I once again had a roof over my head. Not just any roof, a beautiful lakeside cottage, and somehow, I got to choose every little detail. It felt like a father was taking his little girl to the candy store.
It’s the place where these letters were born.
It’s also where I learned that the Promised Land isn’t really about a place at all.
It’s the place we arrive when we’ve learned, through our own story, that God can be trusted.
If you’re walking through a season of uncertainty, I hope these letters feel like a friend pulling up a chair beside you.
Maybe you’re facing a move, the loss of something familiar, a new beginning you didn’t ask for, or a decision that feels far bigger than you know how to make.
I can’t promise your story will look like mine.
But I can tell you this: the same God who faithfully led me will faithfully walk with you, too.
That’s why I write these letters.
In the weeks ahead, I’ll share stories from that journey—and many others. Some are extraordinary. Some are humorous enough to make me shake my head and laugh. Some reveal God’s faithfulness only in hindsight. But all of them point back to one unchanging truth:
God is faithful.
Wherever you find yourself today—whether you’re standing on a mountaintop or weathering a storm—I hope these letters encourage you to keep walking toward the life God is inviting you into.
To me, the Promised Land isn’t the absence of storms.
It’s living with the settled confidence that God is faithful, even while storms still pass overhead.
I’m so glad you’re here.
There’s always a place set for you at My Harvest Table.
And if there’s something weighing on your heart, simply reply to this letter. I’d be honored to pray for you.
With Love,
